10 Quick Steps to Make Your Course Student-Ready

Timing is Everything

When your course section is available to you (three weeks prior to the start of term), review this checklist to complete any prep work that needs to be done prior to the start of the term. Downloadable version is avalible here.

  1. 1. Add your course section info and contact information to the course syllabus. How to Edit HTML Syllabus Video (1 min)
  2. 2. Check for any broken links and replace with new content/links. How to Add a Link to HTML Page Video (3 min)
  3. 3. Review the resources provided in the Instructor Documents module, if available. You can find this on the left side navigation of your course.

  4. 4. Replace any old or outdated resources with contemporary resources, as needed. Such as videos that are no longer available or articles that are out-of-date.
  5. 5. Check videos for captions or transcripts. If captions or transcripts are missing, please email IDT@regis.edu for assistance.
  6. 6. Update assignment and quiz due dates. Adding Due Dates Video (2 min)
  7. 7. Update discussion board content, as needed.
  8. 8. Review rubrics for all assignments and update, if needed. You may consider using the WorldClass Rubric Tool or contact idt@regis.edu.
  9. 9. Delete any old Announcements, as needed, on the course home page and post a new welcome announcement/video. You can schedule this to be released the day before class starts. How to Create Course Announcement Video (1 min)
