The new “Exemplar Online Course Designer” program is designed to recognize those who have designed an online course that exemplifies the Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses. We would like to recognize you for your dedication to providing Regis students with the best learning experiences possible. If you have a course that you believe meets these characteristics, we encourage you to submit it for review by clicking here.
Your course will be reviewed by at least two reviewers using the Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses within five working days of receiving your submission. The completed Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses review form will be provided to you. If there are recommendations for changes in order to meet all of the characteristics, you will be able to make them (or work with ID&T to do so) and resubmit.
Awardees will be celebrated in the first Provost Digest of each month. In addition, a customized badge image will be sent to the course designers identified within the submission. This can be used in your signature, on LinkedIn and other professional spaces.
If you have any questions, please contact Heidi Blair hblair002@regis.edu
On June 26th 2022, Janeen Galligan and Karen Smaldone Cordova both from the School for Professional Advancement in Regis College, were awarded the Exemplary Course Designer designation for the redesign of Communications 400. Their innovative approach to designing the course enables the instructor to select the platform they want to use for engaging students in discussions. This flexible design empowers faculty to select tools that meet their needs and those of the students. This course met all the Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses and provides students with a true Regis learning experience. We would like to recognize the following people for contributing to the design of COM 400: Ling Thompson and Erin Harkness.
Janeen Galligan, Communication Lecturer in the School for Professional Advancement, is the first to be awarded the Exemplary Course Designer badge for the work she has done for Communications 467. Her meaningful integration of the Jesuit Values within assignments and innovative assignments providing opportunities for collaboration and peer feedback, are two of many outstanding ways this course has met the Regis Characteristics of High-Quality Online Courses. We would like to recognize the following people for contributing to the design of COM 467: Kerry Mitchell, Ling Thompson, Doug Emmerich, Josh Parson, Erin Harkness and Alex Benedict.
